Translators

Translations play a huge role in a multilingual nation like India.

We aim to promote contemporary German titles, authors and the language overall, for which we run a translation programme.

It entails the following activities:

* Creating an exhaustive database of translators from German to English and to other Indian languages. The database is available at request to Indian as well as German Publishers. The database covers varied categories ranging from Literary to Technical translators with translation samples.
* Recommending books from Germany to Indian Publishers and facilitating rights and licenses for the same.
* Facilitating translation funding by making it more accessible and comprehensible.

We also organize regular meets with our translators in the GBO and also support capacity building measures being undertaken by various Universities in India with a German Department.
