Aims and Objectives
The German Book Office New Delhi (GBO New Delhi) is a joint venture of the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
Our work comprises of a fine balance between business and culture.
Our cultural aim is to promote German Literature and Books in the South Asian region by:
- Participating in book fairs in the region and displaying German Books
- Recommending German Books to publishers and promoting rights & license sales
- Facilitating contacts
- Facilitation translations
- Organizing professional contact trips and exchange programmes
- Organizing and supporting events on German Literature
Our business aim is to:
- Assist and help the exhibitors going to the Frankfurt Book Fair as well as acquiring new contacts
- Develop professional programmes around Publishing including capacity building and creating discussion platforms
- Analyze and provide information and contacts for the Indian Publishing Industry.
- Facilitate networks between India and the international book markets through the Frankfurt Book Fair network.
